Lloyd Austin has failed in his role as Secretary of Defense and has jeopardized the national security of the United States.
As a result of his failures, I’ve introduced an amendment using the Holman rule to the Defense Appropriations Act to cut Secretary Austin’s salary to no more than $1.
I’m happy to announce that the Rules Committee has made my amendment in order and it will receive a vote on the Floor of the House of Representatives later today.
This is the first amendment of the 118th Congress to receive a vote in the House using the Holman rule to completely gut the salary of one of Joe Biden’s top America last henchmen.
Secretary Austin botched the American withdrawal from Afghanistan, which resulted in the death of 13 American soldiers along with the abandonment of American civilians and military equipment.
During Secretary Austin’s tenure, military recruitment has reached crisis levels of low recruitment. Instead of recruiting new soldiers, Secretary Austin has focused his efforts on purging the military through oppressive vaccine mandates and so-called extremism stand-downs.
Secretary Austin believes it is more important that our soldiers learn about so-called “systematic racism” rather than prepare to face the true national security threats our nation must grapple with.
Secretary Austin has betrayed the American people and completely lost their trust. The American people should no longer have to reward his failures by paying his salary.
I hope every one of my colleagues will vote in support of my amendment.
