Remember US Secretary of State John Kerry dining with Syrian President Bashar Al Assad even as the US prepared to stage protests as cover for launching a proxy war against Syria in 2011? Or President Barack Obama meeting Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi as proxy war was being prepared to destroy his nation?

Washington’s most recent overtures toward China and now Russia regarding APEC amount to cheap words all while every action the US commits to centers on preparing the ground for wider conflict against both nations.

The idea is to appear to pursue diplomacy so that when adversaries react to your actual hostility, it appears they are at fault.
