Between the US-sponsored erasure of Gaza and now a major terrorist attack inside Iran (targeting a cementary where US-assassinated Iranian General Qasem Soleimani is buried), public anger will make it increasingly difficult for Tehran to show restraint following an upcoming direct US and/or Israeli strike on Iran itself.
US policymakers for years admit their greatest fear in attempting to provoke Iran into war is that Tehran might not take the bait.
It appears the stage is being set to make it as politically difficult and costly as possible for Tehran to show restraint. This doesn’t mean the US will succeed, just that they appear to be doing everything possible to improve their odds.
Washington sees the window closing on reasserting US hegemony worldwide, forcing it to commit to increasingly irrational, desperate and thus dangerous actions in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

One such report is featured here from Ohio, where four Republican state lawmakers were targeted with the same call, which is featured in this local report from WBNS TV.
These Ohio lawmakers believe they were specifically targeted because of their support for legislation that increased penalties for — wait for it — the crime of swatting.
Can’t make that one up.
The law enforcement response to these potentially lethal incidents is woeful — usually left to the jurisdiction of local LE agencies, with little-to-no interest from federal LE — and rarely resulting in an arrest.
This is politically-targeted leftwing terrorism. Which likely explains the lack of federal interest.
