NOW – Grocery Chain CEO Issues Dire Warning on Port Strikes – ‘This is Going to Hit Right Between the Eyes’ |

John Catsimatidis, CEO of United Refining Company and Chairman of Red Apple Group, slammed President Biden for his passive response to the ongoing port strikes, accusing the president of mishandling the situation.

Catsimatidis warned that Biden’s inaction could lead to skyrocketing food prices and inflation, just as the country nears Election Day.

“What happens is prices will go up again. Now you have the east coast closed from products coming in. You got the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, still closed on oil. Oil is $10 or $15 higher than it should be, because the Suez Canal and the Red Sea are closed. Food prices are going to go up again.”

He sounded the alarm about the economic fallout, stressing the need for a solution to avoid a damaging cycle.

“You’re going to have a vicious circle if we’re not smart enough to sit down, negotiate, and have a rational discussion.”

When questioned if Biden was purposely allowing the crisis to worsen as a form of retaliation against Democrats for pushing him out of the 2024 race, Catsimatidis didn’t rule it out.

“I think that’s a great possibility and the fact is, he could have extended it 60 days, and had binding mediation, or have some kind of mediation and do the right thing.”

“But this is going to hit right between the eyes in the next 35 days to election day.”
