Biden unable to perform basic functions as president.
Biden has been unable to perform the basic functions of a president, the media finally admits. But his real legacy remains his unprecedented influence peddling, which routed tens of millions from America’s adversaries, including China, to his family, undermining national security.
The mainstream story about Joe Biden has long been that he would bring “adult supervision or gravitas” to political life, notes investigative journalist Peter Schweizer. As someone who had served on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Biden ostensibly offered a “greater understanding of politics…. Joe Biden has made a career off that. When he ran against Donald Trump in 2020, he tried to make the case that the adults are back in town.”
In truth, says Schweizer in a new interview with Public, Biden was a pioneer in “offshoring his corruption.” As soon as he became Vice President, Biden’s son Hunter and his brother James “started doing deals, not in Tokyo, not in London, but in Ukraine, Russia and China.
Haven’t other political leaders made money by having family members sell access to them? Sure, say Schweizer. The difference with Biden was both the scale of the influence peddling, and that it happened with so many enemies of the United States.
“The Biden family has taken in tens of millions of dollars. The people who send him millions of dollars with nothing discernible being given in return are directly tied to the spy apparatus of China. All the people involved had ties to Chinese intelligence. And there’s no discernible evidence that Hunter Biden brought anything of value to the table other than his name and his connections to his father and his father’s political power.”
And the millions from China appear to have changed Biden’s behavior.

“Hunter Biden’s Chinese investment firm partners with the Chinese Aerospace Corporation, the biggest military contractor in China,” explained Schweizer. “They want to come in and buy an American machine tool company that produces very precision parts. A lot of national security people are going to say, ‘Wait a second. Wait a second. Time out. This is going to help the Chinese military to have the son of the sitting vice president on the board of a Chinese investment firm.’
Biden was there to say, “‘Hey, don’t worry about this. This is vetted. This is fine.’” Around the same time, says Schweizer, “Joe Biden’s language towards China changed. Go back to the 1990s, as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Biden was holding hearings about how the Chinese government was deeply involved in the heroin trade. Once the deals with China started to flow, Hunter Joe Biden became much, much softer on Beijing, to the point where he was now saying, ‘We welcome the rise of China. China is a partner. China is not a threat.’ His rhetoric is actually becoming softer. And I think that is impossible to separate from the fact that his family is getting millions of dollars from Chinese entities at precisely this time.”
One might think none of this matters now that Biden is leaving office. But Schweizer warns that Biden lowered the bar. “The problem in Washington has always been when you signal to people in D.C., it doesn’t matter their political party, that you can make gobs of money and get away with it, it’s going to be imitated. That’s my fear looking forward that you’re gonna have some, you know, senator or congressman or whatever come forward and say, well, hey, the Biden’s got away with it. We can do it too. Why don’t we go ahead and cash in that sense of entitlement?”
When it came to Ukraine, Biden may have interfered with US foreign policy to benefit his family financially. “Go back to early 2014. That is when Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine for the first time. The Ukrainians, of course, are looking for allies in the United States. They know that Joe Biden is the vice president and he is appointed by Barack Obama to be the point person on US policy towards Ukraine. In April of 2014, Hunter Biden was asked to join the board of a Ukrainian energy company called Burisma. We know that he got a million dollars a year for that board position. The purpose of the appointment was to solidify the flow of money from Ukraine to the Biden family to ensure that Joe Biden was 100 percent on board on backing Ukraine to the hills….
