Speaker Johnson Urges Supreme Court to Overturn ‘Dangerous’ Trump Guilty Verdict
‘I think they’ll set this straight, but it’s going to take a while,’ Mr. Johnson said of his expectations for the verdict to be overturned.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said that the U.S. Supreme Court should get involved and overturn former President Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in his business records falsification trial in New York, with the speaker arguing that the circumstances of the case have led to an erosion of public faith in America’s justice system.
“There’s a lot of developments yet to come, but I do believe the Supreme Court should step in, obviously, this is totally unprecedented—and it’s dangerous to our system,” Mr. Johnson said in a May 31 appearance on Fox and Friends.
A jury found the former president guilty on May 30 in a case in which he was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in order to conceal non-disclosure payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels as part of a bid to influence the 2016 presidential election in which he was a candidate.
The guilty verdict made President Trump the first former president in U.S. history to be convicted of a crime, with the former president vowing to appeal the verdict and calling the trial “very unfair.”
“This is a scam. This is a rigged trial … this is a rigged judge,” President Trump said at a press conference on May 31, adding that a specific election expert wasn’t allowed to testify on certain issues related to the trial.

While Mr. Johnson’s remarks suggest he’s calling for the Supreme Court to step in before the New York appeals court has had a chance to weigh in on the matter, that appears to be an unlikely scenario.
Hans von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, told The Epoch Times that he understands and shares Mr. Johnson’s frustration at what he described as an obvious “miscarriage of justice” that took place in the Manhattan courtroom.
However, Mr. von Spakovsky said that the prospect of Supreme Court involvement before the appeals process plays out in New York state courts is not realistic.
“There are certainly issues that give the Supreme Court jurisdiction over the state court conviction, given the fundamental violation of Donald Trump’s substantive due process rights under the U.S. Constitution in the way the trial judge and prosecution mishandled the case,” he said. “But I don’t believe the Supreme Court will take the case until the state appeals process is exhausted.”
Jonathan Emord, a constitutional law and litigation expert, told The Epoch Times that he believes that the trial violated President Trump’s due process rights and was “riddled with bias” but that he, too, sees little hope for Supreme Court intervention until the court of appeals has weighed in.
Appeal In Focus
President Trump’s legal team has spoken of plans to appeal, which would normally first have to go through an appeals court in New York before potentially heading to the Supreme Court.
Mr. Johnson said in his appearance on Fox and Friends that the path for an appeal to make its way to the high court would take some time but he expressed confidence that the verdict would ultimately be tossed.
“I think they’ll set this straight, but it’s going to take a while,” Mr. Johnson said. “The process takes a while to play out. The Democrats know that, of course, and they’re dragging it out. That was the whole objective. They want to try to bankrupt Donald Trump.”
While the former president has alleged that President Joe Biden was behind the prosecution, the president has denied any involvement and insisted that the trial was free of any political interference and the verdict affirms that the rule of law is alive and well in America.
“Donald Trump has always mistakenly believed he would never face consequences for breaking the law for his own personal gain,” Biden–Harris 2024 communications director Michael Tyler said in a statement after the verdict.
White House spokesperson Ian Sams said in a post on X: “We respect the rule of law, and have no additional comment.”
Mr. Johnson, who was a litigator for 20 years, said that what he saw in the Trump trial was “outrageous.”
“The American people see it,” he said in Friday’s interview. “This is a purely political exercise, not a legal one. And everybody knows that. They know intuitively that it’s wrong. And the people are outraged.”
Mr. Johnson argued that the way the trial was conducted and the guilty verdict itself are “diminishing the American people’s faith and our system of justice itself.”
“And to maintain a republic … people have to believe that justice is fair that there’s equal justice under law. They don’t see that right now,” he added.
Despite Mr. Johnson’s call for urgency in the appeals process, Mr. von Spakovsky told The Epoch Times that a request to the Supreme Court to intervene would “no doubt” be met with a response that the state court appeals process needs to play itself out before the high court will consider the case.
Judge Merchan, who sparked controversy with instructions to the jury that they didn’t need to agree on all elements of an underlying crime that was key to elevating into a felony what would normally be a misdemeanor charge, has set the former commander-in-chief’s sentencing date for July 11.
Short of a successful appeal, President Trump could now be facing such penalties as jail time, probation, or fines.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who brought the charges against the former president, has not indicted if prosecutors will seek prison time.
The sentencing is four days before the Republican National Convention where President Trump will be formally designated as the Republican presidential nominee.
While there are no laws barring President Trump from running for the White House as a convicted felon, an overturned verdict before Election Day would likely boost his chances at victory.

Bill Gates Invests Millions in ‘Climate Vaccines’ to Reduce Methane Emissions From Cows
A Boston-based ag-biotech startup recently raised $26.5 million to “reduce greenhouse gas emissions” via the development of a “methane vaccine.” Breakthrough Energy Ventures, founded by Gates, led the financing round.
A Boston-based ag-biotech startup recently raised $26.5 million to “reduce greenhouse gas emissions” via the development of a “methane vaccine.” Breakthrough Energy Ventures, founded by Gates, led the financing round.
Now, he may have his sights set on developing a vaccine to combat climate change by targeting the methane emissions of livestock.
ArkeaBio, a Boston-based ag-biotech startup, recently raised $26.5 million in a Series A financing round to “reduce greenhouse gas emissions” via the development of a “methane vaccine,” the company announced in a May 8 press release.
“ArkeaBio’s vaccine will provide an innovative, cost-effective, and scalable solution to reduce the world’s livestock methane emissions, which currently generate the equivalent of 3 Billion Tonnes of CO2 annually and represent 6% of annual Greenhouse gas emissions.”
ArkeaBio claims its “vaccination-based approach allows for much-needed decarbonization of global meat and dairy products across multiple geographies, supporting greater sustainability in agriculture.”
“The funds raised in this Series A financing will play a pivotal role in expanding the research, development and deployment of the vaccine, including large-scale field trials and engagement along the supply chain,” ArkeaBio said in its press release.
“Climate change is the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced,” said ArkeaBio CEO Colin South. “It is the race of our lives. This capital raise allows us to continue to create the tools necessary for farmers to achieve globally relevant reductions in livestock methane emissions.”
Critics of the project who spoke with The Defender disagreed, suggesting “climate change vaccines” are not feasible but will instead help international organizations such as the World Economic Forum, nonprofits like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Big Pharma attain more control over society.
“The ‘climate’ is something that can be used against all people, no matter what, because we all breathe air and drink water. This is why it is a perfect ‘item of control’ being used to engineer panic. A new ‘deadly virus/vaccine’ campaign would be less effective in this way, following the colossal failure of the ‘COVID-19 measures.’
“To me, ‘climate change’ is a catchphrase to mask the damage being done to our environment by mass polluters.”
“It’s not surprising that these Neo-Malthusian control freaks, psychopaths and government-backed monopolistic profiteers are teaming up to usher in this false narrative. ‘Climate change’ is being used by Big Pharma, the WEF [World Economic Forum], Bill Gates, the Rockefeller Foundation, and their regime puppets as a pretense to promote vaccines and control society.”
Scott C. Tips, president of the National Health Federation, said “climate change vaccines” would also give Big Pharma another avenue to promote mRNA technology.
“Such vaccines would certainly incorporate dangerous mRNA technology, just as tetanus shots now do,” he said.
ArkeaBio is not Gates’ only foray into the development of “solutions” related to methane emissions from livestock.
In November 2023, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation granted $4.5 million to Indiana-based animal health biotech company BiomEdit to “deliver a safe and affordable solution that consistently produces significant livestock-related enteric methane emissions reduction.”
The push for ‘centralized, unaccountable and coercive control’
Agricultural experts told The Defender that even if the premise of “climate change vaccines” is correct, livestock-generated methane is a minor contributor to overall carbon emissions.
“These vaccines are not needed,” said André Leu, D.Sc., international director of Regeneration International, author and regenerative organic farmer. “They are yet another cost for farmers, further weakening their net income and transferring this to the multinational corporations. They are based on a very poor understanding of greenhouse gas contributions to climate change.
Leu noted that the contribution of methane is at most 1.6% of greenhouse gases. “Most methane emissions come from leaking gas, oil wells and permafrost melting. Ruminants are a very small percentage. The bulk of this comes from Confined Animal Feeding Operations” — also known as factory farms.
Experts also suggested that other means of reducing such methane emissions exist.
Methane from cattle and other livestock belch is produced by microbes in their intestinal tracks through the normal fermentation of feed, noted James Lyons-Weiler, Ph.D., a research scientist and author.
“We don’t need to vaccinate every cow to cause their immune systems to attack these microbes to reduce methane,” he said. “Permacultural practices produce high-quality feed easier to digest that produces less methane than low-quality feeds.”
Lyons-Weiler said that any vaccine attacking animals’ immune systems with the goal of reducing their methane emissions may put the animals’ health at risk and may also endanger the meat industry.
He said:
“An additional concern is that cattle everywhere will develop serious gastrointestinal illnesses as their immune systems attack these naturally occurring methane-producing non-pathogenic organisms.
“Entire ‘vaccinated’ herds will become commercially unviable, and the meat industry will be destroyed. It is entirely reasonable to suspect this is the ultimate goal of this insane endeavor.”
Some experts suggested that another potential impetus behind the push for “climate change vaccines” is the One Health concept, championed by the World Health Organization (WHO), which promotes the idea that public health policies should view human health, and also animal and environmental health, as being interdependent.
Rose suggested that “from the point of view of control,” the “climate change vaccines” may be connected to One Health. Tips agreed, calling One Health “a particularly nefarious scheme” intended to “fool the populace, raise lots of money and enact globalist goals of power over the world’s population.”
The implementation of One Health’s goals would also involve “synthetic means and centralized, unaccountable and coercive control,” Tips said.
Proponents of One Health claim that as a result of climate change, zoonotic diseases — which jump from animals to humans — are likely to increase in number and severity, thereby necessitating the unified approach the concept champions.
But Rectenwald disputed this argument. “The origin of the last pandemic was not zoonotic at all,” he said. “The coronavirus was produced in a lab, just like the vaccines.”
Big Pharma, WEF pushing for ‘vaccines to fight climate-sensitive diseases’
ArkeaBio has not announced plans to develop similar “climate change vaccines” for humans. But some Big Pharma firms are using the threat of climate change to push for increased vaccination, which they claim will help mitigate a climate catastrophe.
An April 2023 article, “Vaccine innovation is a critical response to the climate crisis,” Thomas Triomphe, Sanofi’s executive vice president of vaccines, claimed that “Continued innovation of vaccines to fight climate-sensitive diseases will undoubtedly be a critical tool in the public health response.”
A December 2023 GSK article titled, “In the face of climate change, vaccines play a crucial but underestimated role,” claimed that “As warming temperatures and extreme weather events exacerbate the spread of infectious diseases, maximising the role of vaccines can help mitigate the impact of climate change.”
In a July 2023 interview with The Guardian, Pascal Soriot, CEO of AstraZeneca, said the climate crisis is “affecting us all through respiratory diseases, cancers, health conditions, infectious diseases” and that “This crisis is actually a health crisis.”
And a November 2023 WEF article suggests that “climate change could help spread viruses like malaria, dengue and Zika to higher latitudes and expose more people.”
“We can act now to bolster the infrastructure and push the vaccines that should be developed or drugs that need more production capacity,” the article states. “Unlike COVID-19, we have a chance to get ahead of the problem. We should take it.”

‘Pandemic preparedness’ another name for increased surveillance?
ArkeaBio and Bill Gates aren’t the only ones actively involved in the development of purported health-related solutions to climate change.
In May, the Rockefeller Foundation and the WHO announced an initiative “to cultivate global networks for pathogen detection and strengthen pandemic preparedness capabilities, including broadening surveillance for diseases worsened by rising temperatures and extreme weather.”
The Rockefeller Foundation is investing $5 million in the WHO as part of the initiative, which operates through the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence and is aimed at supporting such goals as “scaling global capacity for genomic surveillance” and “improving outbreak detection.”
“Climate change is increasing both the risk of another global pandemic and the need to collaborate and share data,” Dr. Rajiv Shah, president of The Rockefeller Foundation, said at the time of the announcement.
Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, head of the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence, said at the time of the announcement that “The COVID-19 pandemic underscored that disease surveillance, collaboration between stakeholders, and data sharing were absolutely essential ingredients for health security.”
Separately, a 2023 study published in The BMJ by Ginkgo Bioworks researchers warned that “Climate and land-use changes are predicted to increase the frequency of zoonotic spillover events, which have been the cause of most modern epidemics.”
“This trend can be altered by concerted global efforts to improve our capacity to prevent and contain outbreaks,” the paper stated, calling for the “rapid development” of mRNA vaccines, genomic surveillance and “focus surveillance at key travel hubs.”
One way CAN says it can accomplish this is by “training 1 million, purpose-driven data practitioners by 2032 through a global ecosystem of academic, philanthropic, social impact, government, and private sector partners.”

No One Can Stop Them All: A Limited Overview of Electronic Wafare in Ukraine
Summary
Electronic Warfare (EW) is constantly evolving. This requires constant revision or replacement on the battlefield. Drones and anti-drone EW are a game of cat and mouse. While advancements in electronic warfare don’t render current EW systems obsolete, it means that anything approaching consistent, overlapping fields of protection against all drone attacks is presently, impractical. That’s not say this will always be the case, but it’s a problem likely to be faced well into the future.
In A League of Its Own
Russian EW is widely regarded as the best, most advanced, and most adaptable in the world, this is by serious analysts not newspaper pundits and those with a need for bias-confirmation. This is especially in terms of anti-drone warfare. In late 2022, a major Chinese defense think tank issued a report that likely caused some in Western military circles to start taking notes. “The Russian army’s anti-drone combat capabilities are superior to those of the U.S. military.”(1) If Russia’s capabilities are superior to those of the U.S. military, it would be hard to argue that they will be surpassed by Ukraine in the foreseeable future.
Ukraine has proven a willing “beta tester” and proving ground for the Western MIC and “the techniques [of EW] have turned the war into a proxy laboratory.” The owner of Ukrainian drone manufacturer Piranha admits that Russia’s EW systems are ahead of Ukraines. Though, he optimistically appraises that Ukraine it will only take a while to catch up. The aforementioned time span should come with a caveat that the Russian MIC must halt all forward progress.
Before we tackle the threat of drones on the battlefield and how Russia has tackled that threat, it’s useful to see what else Russian EW systems are doing.
Much More than Drone Jammers
Last week a classified Ukrainian report was leaked to the Washington Post about major issues facing Western weapons systems in Ukraine. The news was largely overshadowed by news that Russia is increasingly able to jam the Starlink satellite, internet based, communications systems which Ukraine relies upon. The latter is another key field in EW, and in regards battlefield radio communications, “the life cycle of a radio in Ukraine is only about three months before it needs to be reprogrammed or swapped out as the Russians optimize their electronic warfare against it,” reports the New York times, quoting Daniel Patt, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute.(3)
The leaked report indicate some of the most advanced Western weaponry is being picked off by Russian EW, “including Excalibur GPS-guided artillery shells and HIMARS.” And Swedish made, long range guided muntions have also been hampered by Russian EW.
A Ukrainian official speaking on terms of anonymity even told the paper that HIMARS had “become completely ineffective.” He also said that in January of this year, Ukraine began requesting an alternative to the overhyped HIMARS. Out of 3000 U.S. Excalibur shells fired were analyzed by military researcher through August of 2023. The findings were the “high precision” guided muntions ability to reach the designated target went from 50 percent when they were first deliver to only 7 percent during the Ukrainian Counter Offensive of 2023. This has forced Ukraine to use those standard “dumb” shells, which the West has proven incapable of delivering at a sustainable rate. The US has since stopped all deliver of Excalibur guided munitions due high cost and extreme failure rates. (4)
Conventional Drones and conventional anti-drone countermeasures operate almost entirely over radio waves. Until recently, the technology to cover the broad spectrum of frequencies has been limited by practical necessity, in terms of cost and manpower required to monitor traffic. Still, Russia has managed to broadly assert dominance along the line of contact. But its proven difficult to do so while still maintaining your own drone presence has proved difficult and resulted in more than a few Russian drones crashing due to Russian anti-drone jamming.
Exploiting these complications, both sides use drone swarms to overwhelm anti-drone capabilities, each drone operating on a different frequency makes trying to stop them all at once a near impossibility. Still, Russia has done an exceptional job in harm reduction.
Two new models of Russian AI-assisted, portable, anti-drone EW systems—’Abzats” and ‘Gyurza’—provide the most recent examples of how Russia is solving this problem. They require no operator, can be controlled remotely, and are capable of jamming the entire spectrum of radio signals and differentiating between Russian and Ukrainian drones. (5) In other words, these are “game changers.” But proliferation of new systems take time, especially when other systems are likely still under contract. (6)
New Russian drone technology has the potential to negate the efficacy of known EW anti-drone systems. A fiber optic guided quadcopter drones called ‘Product 55’—manufactured by Kalashnikov subsidiary ZALA—is now being used on the battlefield. Since fiber optic communication cannot currently be detected, they can’t be jammed using conventional means. They don’t use radio signals, which is the major assumption of widely distributed, anti-drone systems. Ukraine now claims to have reverse-engineered and tested their own implementation of such fiber optic drones. (7)
Drone Footage in Context
One thing which remains largely undiscussed is the potential for overstatement of the impact of drones on the battlefield. Though they certainly have an impact, EUCOM commander, General Christopher Cavoli, recently cautioned against overdrawing conclusions. He makes particular reference to homemade and commercially available drones, which he says “are not very destructive.” (8) The Chinese Mavic 3 widely used by Ukrainian operators falls into this category.
It’s important to remember that the intent of circulating drone footage is to serve a narrative, and the footage provides a narrow, skewed, and curated view of the battlefield.

The most biased judge Gowdy’s ever seen
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Fox News host Trey Gowdy told viewers that the judge in this case is actively working to help Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg convict former President Donald Trump.
“I’ve had some pro-prosecution judges in my life, but I ain’t never seen a judge like this… That’s what I felt like, is he was a member of the prosecution team,” Gowdy stated.
Gowdy said the judge – a Joe Biden campaign donor named Juan Merchan – even went so far as to refer to the prosecution as “we” in court.
Trey Gowdy on Biden-donor Judge Juan Merchan: “I’ve had some pro-prosecution judges in my life, but I ain’t never seen a judge like this… That’s what I felt like, is he was a member of the prosecution team.”
Trey Gowdy served as a former federal prosecutor.
He knows a thing or two about criminal trials and likely benefited from judges who acted deferentially to the government.
But even he’s never seen anything like this.
How Judge Merchan rigged the trial
Trump faced a rigged show trial.
This judicial sham was engineered by Merchan who allowed Bragg to bring a cockamamie legal theory forward that Donald Trump falsified business records to cover up a nonexistent federal campaign violation.
Merchan knew Bragg didn’t have the authority to enforce federal law – especially against imaginary crimes the feds never charged Trump with – but he allowed this case to proceed because Democrats think their chances of winning in November hinge on being able to call Trump “convicted felon Donald Trump.”
And Merchan instructed the jurors that they could convict Trump of falsifying business records without Bragg even proving that records were falsified to conceal another crime.
“The people weren’t required to identify any object crime,” prosecutor Matthew Colangelo – who worked as the number three official in the Biden Justice Department before joining Bragg’s office in December 2022 – told Judge Merchan.
Colangelo argued that because the state doesn’t even have to prove a second crime took place, they don’t need to meet the standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt to convict Trump.
“Where there’s no obligation to identify even the object crime, there is no reason to be held to the proof standard of the object crime. What we have to prove is the defendant’s intent and the intent to aid or conceal,” Colangelo continued.
Juries must reach a unanimous verdict in a criminal case for a conviction.
But in this case, Judge Merchan let jurors pick and choose from a menu of options that Bragg presented as to what was the second crime Trump supposedly intended to conceal when he allegedly falsified business records.
“The jury does not need to conclude unanimously what the specific unlawful means are,” Colangelo stated.
“I think the key point for this instruction is to advise the jury that, yes, there has to be some unlawful means, and to alert them as to what those unlawful means are, but also advise them that they don’t have to unanimously agree on each of the unlawful means,” Colangelo added.
So not only did the judge allow a conviction without the prosecution even needing to prove what crime Trump committed, but the jury didn’t even need to reach a unanimous verdict to convict him based on this lower standard of proof.
Legal experts were appalled by this shocking unconstitutional abuse of the law by Merchan and the prosecutors to get Trump.

In the end, Gowdy’s fear was proven right when the jury delivered a guilty verdict on all 34 counts

Jurors are BACK for a third time. New York law doesn’t let jurors have Judge Merchan’s 50+ pages of jury instructions. If they can’t remember all of his hour-long instructions they have to ask for them to be reread to them, and so far they’ve gone back over 30+ pages. Think of the last hour-long TV show you watched: How many specific lines can you remember from it?
Not only that, but the juror don’t have access to witness testimony transcripts either. They need to ask for all of that to be read back to them too!
Does anybody think this is a reasonable way to achieve justice? New York is a ridiculous state with ridiculous laws and this is a ridiculous case. The prosecution’s hope is the jury will be so confused and baffled that they’ll simply convict to get it over with.
